  1. Prepare 1/2 cup ghee
  2. Get 1.25 cup wheat flour
  3. Prepare 1/2 cup jaggery
  4. Make ready 1 teaspoon ginger powder
  5. Take 1 tbsp desiccated coconut
  6. Prepare 6 almonds

Instructions to make Sukhdi/ Gur papdi:
  1. First of all add ghee in a pan and let it become warm. Now add wheat flour to it and mix it very well. Keep stirring for around 8 to 10 minutes so that the mixture becomes light and fluffy. You will also see the change in the colour and the the wheat flour will be fragrant.
  2. Grate jaggery and keep it ready. Now turn off the flame and add ginger powder and desiccated coconut to it and mix it very well. Now add grated jaggery to it and mix it until it melts completely.
  3. Grease a plate and add prepared sukhdi mixture to it and level it with the help of a glass or a bowl.
  4. Sprinkle almond slivers on top and push it lightly with a glass or a bowl. Cut it into square or diamond shaped pieces.
  5. Let it cool down or you can even serve it hot as it tastes best when it is hot.

It is one of the traditional Gujarati sweets. Store sukhdi in an air-tight container. Traditionally sukhdi is eaten during the winters as it provides your body with warmth. I usually have gol papdi made and stored which helps kill the craving of sweets. Golpapdi also known as Sukhdi or Gur Papdi is a traditional Gujarati sweet dish made from whole wheat flour and jaggery which makes it a super wholesome and healthy sweet.
