Traditional Japanese confection dorayaki is made of two hand-sized American-style pancakes sandwiched together with a sweet filling, the most popular of which is azuki red beans (). However, custard, chestnuts (kuri), and cream (matcha cream, cream with fruits, etc.) are also popular. The ingredients needed to make Dorayaki:
  1. Prepare 2 large eggs
  2. Take 75 g sugar
  3. Make ready 12 g honey
  4. Prepare 9,5 gr Baking powder
  5. Prepare 25 ml Water (can be lesser so thicker)
  6. Get 100 gr Flour
  7. Prepare 10 gr Potato starch
  8. Take 2 gr Soy sauce
  9. Make ready 2 tbsp Milk

Dorayaki is one of the most popular Japanese confectioneries. It is Anko (sweet red bean paste) sandwiched between sweet pancakes. It is a Japanese sweet beloved by the old and young. It may be perfect for people who have never had any traditional Japanese sweets because it doesn't have any unusual ingredients.

Instructions to make Dorayaki:
  1. Mix egg and sugar in a bowl
  2. Add honey and soy sauce and mix again
  3. Dissolve baking powder in water
  4. Add sifted flour, potato starch and baking powder into egg mixture gradually
  5. Add milk and mix well
  6. Leave the dough for 30minutes or even overnight
  7. Heat frying pan WITHOUT adding dough, wait until pan is HOT so that surface can be browned (use medium-low heat just enough to cover batter)
  8. Pour dough at 10cm above pan surface to make round dorayaki(no oil needed)
  9. Wait until surface bubbles then flip and wait for around 10s

Dorayaki (どら焼き(どらやき)), orYummy Buns, are a kind of Japanese pastry. It is similar to a pair of pancakes, but smaller and with red bean paste between them. It is the favorite food of the Doraemons, but it can also serve as their weakness, as Suneo Honekawa demonstrated in The Friendship Capsule. Doryakis earned their name from the Japanese term dora. Dorayaki (doh-ra-yaki) are cute and tasty traditional Japanese sweets made from sweet azuki bean paste sandwiched between two fluffy honey pancakes.
